Art direction exercise: designing a grid system inspired by the visual universe of Darius, the French musical artist. "Let people interpret our art however they wish."
A study in composition, light/shadow contrast, and solar nostalgia. Seven compositions exploring the artist's visual codes through a rigorous grid system.
Seven compositions built on a grid system inspired by the world of Darius. Golden light, deep shadows, solar nostalgia.
This exercise pushed me to work with the rigour of a grid system while staying faithful to a strong artistic universe. Darius is a blend of sunlight and melancholy. Translating that into graphic compositions means finding the right balance between structure and emotion.
Key takeaway: a grid system is not a constraint. It's a framework that frees the composition when you know how to use it.
